Summary

On August 14, 2014, at around 9:20 AM, a witness in Bedarrides (Vaucluse) observed four oval-shaped white objects in the sky that appeared almost motionless. The witness noted that the objects made no sound and disappeared one by one after one or two minutes of observation. The gendarmerie investigated for any aircraft activity in the area, but found nothing. Although balloons were considered as a possible explanation, no supporting evidence was found. Due to the lack of other testimonies and precise information, the GEIPAN classified the case as "C" for insufficient data.

The sky location toward the west and the weather conditions, with a northwest wind beginning to intensify, could have made the objects appear static. However, a balloon launch at that time and on a weekday seems unusual. Despite being in peak summer vacation season, no clues confirmed this explanation. The case remains unresolved, retaining its classification due to lack of conclusive data.
