🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In September 2014, a driver in Seine-et-Marne observed a dozen lights moving slowly and silently across the sky. The lights traveled in the same direction, at low altitude and at the same speed. As they moved away, they were described as small glowing halos. Other drivers were present, but no additional testimonies were collected. The GEIPAN concluded that these were likely Thai lanterns released after a private party. The movement of the lights matched the wind direction recorded in Roissy. Due to their low brightness, witnesses perceived them as farther away and larger than they actually were. The case was ultimately classified as "B", meaning a terrestrial phenomenon identified.
