Orange lights forming a triangle in Louviers

Summary

On October 19, 2014 at 22:50, a witness observed the silent passage of 7 to 9 orange lights in the sky for 8 to 10 seconds. They formed a triangle moving from north to south. The phenomenon disappeared behind the urban landscape and no other testimonies were collected. Although the possibility of an UFO event was considered, the GEIPAN concluded it was likely Thai lanterns released after a private party. The movement observed from the southwest to the northeast matched the south wind recorded in Roissy, about 20 km away.
