Summary

On November 2, 2014, at 18:25, a witness observed an orange glowing point moving silently toward them before changing direction and rising rapidly into the sky. Initially thought to be a wind-borne Tibetan lantern, the object's nonlinear movement made this explanation unlikely. The mountainous terrain made it difficult to predict low-altitude wind patterns, and nearby weather stations (Lyon, Macon, Geneva) reported conflicting conditions. Additionally, the witness's photo showed pink and blue hues, not orange, likely due to poor lighting and camera motion. Because of these uncertainties, the GEIPAN could not provide a clear explanation and classified the case as "C".
