🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On November 3, 2014, a witness in Fontaines-sur-Saône observed a strange aerial phenomenon: a silent ballet of white lights forming what appeared to be a large object in the sky. The witness recorded a video of the event. However, the GEIPAN determined that the phenomenon was not of unknown origin, but rather a test of a light show organized for the inauguration of the Schuman Bridge in Lyon. Two days before the official event, a rehearsal of the show took place, which included projections into the sky. Due to strong southerly winds, the lights reflected off low clouds, creating an optical illusion that confused witnesses. The case was classified as "A", meaning explained.
