Summary

On the night of November 10, 2014, a witness in Sainte-Catherine observed a flickering point of light in the sky. The unidentified flying object (UAP) was moving very slowly to the right and rapidly changing colors between red, green, and blue. The witness tried to photograph it without success, and the observation lasted about three hours, interrupted for 45 minutes. Later, around 1:40 AM, the witness saw it again, but lost sight of it at 2:30 AM. The GEIPAN concluded that the UAP was actually a star, likely Vega or Deneb, whose light was distorted by atmospheric conditions and high-altitude winds. The color changes and apparent movement were explained by scintillation and an optical illusion known as autokinetic effect. Despite its apparent oddity, the case was classified as a simple astronomical misidentification.
