On December 5, 2014, a passerby in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine observed between 19:45 and 19:50 five very bright orange-red lights moving silently across the night sky. Although no other witnesses were reported, the description of the lights, their color, and movement immediately suggested the possibility of Thai lanterns. This type of light, typical of celebrations, could have been launched during a private party in the area. Moreover, the movement of the lights from west to east matched the light wind recorded in the region, supporting the hypothesis. Ultimately, the GEIPAN classified the case as "B," indicating a likely observation of Thai lanterns.
