In 1952, a family in the Netherlands reported seeing a formation of "flying saucers." According to a CIA document, on July 24th around 6:30 PM, a "V"-shaped formation appeared in the sky above Archem. Four children—two boys aged 16 and 13, and two girls aged 12 and 10—watched the objects for several minutes before they suddenly vanished to the south. This account, though not officially evaluated, adds another case to the long list of UFO sightings from that era. The formation and duration of the sighting are key to understanding why this event was recorded.
The report, though brief, shows how the CIA collected information on UFO sightings even in countries like the Netherlands. Although no official conclusion was reached about the nature of the objects, the fact that multiple witnesses observed them simultaneously adds credibility. This kind of report helped researchers map patterns and possibly respond to the wave of sightings in the 1950s.
