In December 2014, a witness in La Reunion observed a luminous phenomenon over the ocean. Looking through binoculars, they noticed a dark object with a lower part that shimmered in orange light. Although photos were taken, they did not clearly capture what was seen. The object then moved silently toward the southwest. The witness's description, along with the photos, appears consistent, though it comes from a single person. The GEIPAN report suggests the object was likely a common ship, as its appearance and behavior were not unusual. The location and direction of the observation also align with a frequently used maritime area. Despite this, the visual description and silent movement raise some curiosity.
