Summary

On January 1, 2015, a family in Gers observed five luminous spheres in the sky. One was red and the others orange. No sound was heard during their movement. The objects ascended, descended, and moved toward the east before disappearing. Only one testimony was collected. Due to the date and time, it was initially thought to be traditional Thai lanterns launched after a private celebration. However, the movement of the objects did not match the wind direction recorded in the area.

The extremely low temperature (-4°C) could have influenced the unusual behavior of the objects, whose altitude varied significantly. The lack of photographs, additional testimonies, and precise meteorological data made it difficult to assess the phenomenon. Ultimately, the GEIPAN classified it as case C, due to insufficient information for a more conclusive evaluation.
