On February 25, 2015, a witness in the Var region of France observed a bright object in the sky while driving. At 18:10, the witness saw an oval-shaped object, yellow or red in color, very high in the sky and heading northwest. The sky was clear, and the sighting lasted about five minutes, just at sunset. Due to the sunlight, the object appeared like a small cloud illuminated from behind. The GEIPAN, which classifies UFO cases in France, considered it could be a small cloud or even an airplane contrail. However, given its shape and the speed with which it disappeared, investigators concluded it was more likely a small cloud backlit by the sun. The final classification of the case was "B", indicating a sighting likely explained by natural phenomena.
