Summary

On March 7, 2015, a witness in Seine-et-Marne observed a group of nine red lights in the sky. While driving, they noticed the lights moving silently and quickly in formation above a nearby hill. The witness stopped to take photos and continued observing with their family until the phenomenon disappeared. Although initially appearing unusual, investigators concluded these were traditional lanterns, specifically of the Thai type. These lanterns, typically low in brightness, can appear larger and faster due to their distance. Additionally, the light southeast wind explained their trajectory. While less common on Fridays, events in the area are frequent, especially professional or association-related ones, and aligned with carnival season.
