Summary

On April 5, 2015, between 9:30 PM and 11:00 PM, a driver observed a bright, elongated light in the sky. He stopped his car several times to better observe the phenomenon, which seemed to follow him but remained fixed in the west. After investigation, GEIPAN concluded it was the planet Venus, which was particularly bright in that direction. The witness later confirmed that Venus was indeed in that part of the sky. The initial description of an elongated shape could be due to visual fatigue or atmospheric distortion. The case was classified as "A," meaning explained as an observation of Venus.
