Summary

On April 21, 2015, a witness in the Haute-Savoie region of France observed a colorful, flickering light in the sky for five minutes. The object disappeared after a few minutes, enough time for the witness to record the phenomenon. The observation took place above Mont-Saxonnex, to the southwest. Two days later, the witness saw a similar phenomenon again. After investigation, the GEIPAN concluded that the observed phenomenon corresponded to the star Sirius at its setting, which can display intense brightness and flickering due to atmospheric interaction. This case was classified as "A", meaning it was explained as a normal astronomical observation.
