On May 23, 2015, two people in Charente-Maritime observed two bright orange objects moving quickly across the sky between 23:00 and 23:15. The objects moved silently from west to east, and although only one testimony was collected, the description matched that of traditional Thai lanterns. The GEIPAN report, which classifies this case as "B," suggests that these were likely lanterns released during a private celebration. Additionally, the movement direction aligned with the recorded wind in the area, supporting this hypothesis. Although the phenomenon was brief, its striking brightness generated curiosity, but no conclusive evidence of an unexplained event was found.
