On June 13, 2015, several witnesses in Mennezy observed an orange object silently moving in a straight line across the sky. At 00:05, two of them saw it again, prompting them to call the gendarmerie. Despite multiple witnesses, only one testimony was collected. The description of orange balls crossing the sky on a weekend night strongly suggested they were Thai lanterns, often released after private celebrations. The observed movement—first from northwest to southwest, then from east to west—aligned with the wind patterns recorded in the area. The GEIPAN classified the case as "B," likely attributing it to Thai lanterns.
