UFO in France, Two distinct phenomena in Vieu

Summary

On June 20, 2015, a driver in Vieu (Ain) observed three red-orange glowing points moving silently from north to south. At the same time, a very bright green light was moving rapidly from east to west. Although the witness linked both phenomena, the GEIPAN determined they were separate events. The red-orange points were identified as typical Thai lanterns, often launched during summer celebrations on Saturdays. Their direction was explained by the recorded north wind in the area. Meanwhile, the green light corresponded to a fireball, a bright meteorite seen simultaneously by several witnesses in different French departments. Unfortunately, the BOAM camera network did not record the fireball, likely due to cloudy conditions in the area.
