On June 30, 2015, a witness in Saint-Léger-des-Vignes observed two orange-yellowish lights in the sky for over an hour, one above the other. He took several photos and noticed the objects moving very slowly, suggesting an astronomical origin. After reviewing star maps, it was determined that the phenomenon was the apparent conjunction of Venus and Jupiter, a rare event where the two planets appear very close from Earth. The attached sky maps confirm the positions observed. The GEIPAN classified the case as "A," meaning fully explained.
