On July 12, 2015, between 3 and 4 a.m., a witness in Saint-Thibery observed a bright point blinking regularly and moving in a straight line. The object made no noise and disappeared quickly. Due to the lack of precise details and a single witness, investigators considered it could be an out-of-control satellite. The Iridium 73, known for its regular blinking, passed through the indicated area near the mentioned time. Although not officially confirmed, the characteristics match those of a rapidly spinning satellite.
