On August 29, 2015, a witness in Chatillon (Hauts-de-Seine) observed four round objects of yellow-orange color with a red center moving slowly and silently across the sky. The objects appeared to form a single phenomenon and passed over a building before disappearing. The witness managed to take a photograph, although only one testimony was recorded. According to the GEIPAN, the objects could have been carried by the wind. The direction and speed of movement match a light northeast wind recorded that day. Additionally, the description and image suggest round shapes similar to balloons. The red or orange glow could correspond to Thai lanterns or LED-inflated helium balloons. In conclusion, the case was classified as B: likely observation of balloons.
