Summary

On August 28, 2015, four people in a garden in Bessey observed two orange lights in the sky. One light appeared fixed to the west, while the other moved from the northwest. Both disappeared toward the southwest without making any noise. The witness managed to take four photographs. Only one testimony was collected at the gendarmerie. After analyzing the images, investigators concluded with high probability that they were two Thai lanterns, moving with the wind. The event took place on a Friday evening, a common time for celebrations such as weddings or parties, when such lanterns are often released. Therefore, the GEIPAN classified the case as likely involving Thai lanterns.
