Summary

On August 6, 2015, at 10:20 PM, a witness in Salon-de-Provence observed a translucent triangular object crossing the sky in a matter of seconds. No noise, flashes, or trails were noticed. The witness, lying down and looking toward the zenith, saw the phenomenon move from the southwest to the northeast. Although the Calsky system indicated the presence of the International Space Station in the sky around that time, its trajectory did not match the observed direction. Investigators considered the possibility of three simultaneous meteors, but this did not explain the triangular shape. Additionally, the witness stated that the brightness was not typical of a shooting star. Due to the brevity of the observation and the lack of other witnesses, the GEIPAN classified the case as "C," meaning no scientific value.
