In September 2015, multiple witnesses across France reported a bright bolide streaking through the sky at high speed. The phenomenon was observed from various locations, including Les-Vans, Toulouse, and Lyon, and was captured by automated cameras from the GEIPAN and the Pic du Midi Observatory. The estimated altitude of the object, around 60 km, and its speed exceeding 8 km/s suggest it was a natural meteorite, likely originating from the asteroid belt. Analysis ruled out the possibility of a space debris event, as no registered orbital debris was recorded falling in the region that day. The GEIPAN classified the case as "A," meaning it was fully identified as a natural phenomenon.
