On September 6, 2015, a driver in Seine-Maritime noticed a shadow covering the sun. Looking through the windshield, she described a triangular shape with slightly curved sides and bright circles at the ends. The object was matte black, silent, and emitted no light. Her passenger didn’t see it when opening the window. Later, both witnesses saw the phenomenon moving toward Breteville. The report suggests it could be a Rafale jet, but the lack of sound surprised them.
The most likely hypothesis points to a military aircraft, as a similar event with Rafales occurred nearby that day. However, radar data is missing to confirm this. A drone was also ruled out due to the object’s speed. The case was classified as a probable misidentification with an aircraft, as the observation conditions were difficult and the witnesses couldn’t clearly identify the object.
