🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On November 1, 2015, a witness in the Seine-Maritime region observed a bright point in the sky. When zooming in with his camera, he noticed a multicolored diamond-like shape that caught his attention. Initially, the witness thought it was a satellite, but after reviewing the footage, he was surprised by what appeared to be a duplication of the object. However, there were no other witnesses or additional confirmations. The GEIPAN investigation concluded that the phenomenon was not an unidentified object, but an optical illusion caused by the camera focusing on a bright star. The star in question was Capella, and the duplication effect was due to technical artifacts from the recording device.
