🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On January 1, 2016, at 1:30 AM, several people in Villemoisson-sur-Orge (France) observed three orange spheres silently moving across the sky. The objects remained visible for five minutes before vanishing quickly. Although only one witness was reported, the characteristics of the phenomenon—such as color, trajectory, and the sudden disappearance—immediately suggested traditional Thai lanterns. These objects, often launched during celebrations, could easily explain the event. The timing, coinciding with New Year's Eve, further supports this hypothesis. The GEIPAN concluded that the case was conventional, likely linked to a private celebration in the area.
