🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On January 31, 2016, a witness in Saint-Prix observed a white, immobile bar-shaped light in the sky. The object made no sound and quickly disappeared behind a cloud. The witness later found out a similar object had been seen in Vichy in 2012. The report included unusual details: a rectangular shape five degrees wide, a high elevation of 70 degrees, and no angular movement. Stars, planes, balloons, and lanterns were ruled out, leaving the possibility of a construction helicopter carrying a lit beam or ramp. However, authorities reported no such activity on that Sunday. The witness did not go to the gendarmerie or respond to GEIPAN's requests for follow-up. Without further information, the case was classified as C: no witness response, lack of reliable data.
