🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
Around 3 a.m. on July 7, 2007, a driver and his friend traveling on the N118 road saw a luminous spherical object with an incandescent green color and a bright greenish halo. The object moved erratically, frequently changing direction. The sighting lasted about 20 seconds and occurred at close range, with no stormy conditions present, ruling out the possibility of a ball lightning. The witness, who reported the event 11 years later, noted the proximity of the Saclay CEA. Although the expert considered the object's behavior, duration, and color consistent with a globular lightning case, the lack of meteorological data from that time limited confirmation. Therefore, the GEIPAN classified the case as C, close to a B (globular lightning).
