Summary

In November 2013, a resident of Tallard, France, observed and recorded lights in the night sky. He contacted local authorities and civil aviation, and several witnesses, including gendarmes, made additional observations from different locations. Although the video was of poor quality, the accounts described bright, flickering lights. Investigators concluded that the sightings were actually a combination of bright stars and planets such as Rigel, Jupiter, Vega, and Sirius. These stars, along with the mountainous terrain of the Alps, explain the flickering and apparent movement. The alignment of observed positions with actual celestial bodies confirms that this was a misidentification, but with strong astronomical consistency.
