🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On September 25, 2008, a witness in Ille-et-Vilaine observed a very bright luminous point crossing the sky from west to east in just a few minutes. Initially, the phenomenon seemed unusual, but after checking data from the Calsky website, it was confirmed that the object was the International Space Station (ISS), passing through the area at a time very close to the one reported. The witness mentioned having seen similar phenomena in previous years, which reinforced the consistency of the explanation. The GEIPAN classified the case as "A", indicating it was not an unexplained phenomenon. Additionally, that same night at 23:00, another event occurred in the same region: the atmospheric reentry of a third stage of a Russian PROTON rocket, which was far more spectacular.
