🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
A witness reported observing a stationary luminous object in the sky from different locations. He described a colorful object, with red, blue, and green hues, that seemed to move left and right before returning to its original position. Although others also saw it, only one testimony was collected. After analyzing the direction indicated (northeast), GEIPAN investigators concluded the object was Capella, a well-known star. However, the witness initially thought it was Arcturus, located in the west. Eventually, the witness admitted it was an optical illusion caused by fixating on a star, making it appear to move. For this reason, the case was classified as B, attributed to Capella.
