🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1947, Kenneth Arnold, an Idaho pilot, reported seeing a formation of nine strange aerial objects while flying near Mount Rainier in Washington. According to Arnold, the objects were disc-shaped, highly reflective, and moving at astonishing speeds, approximately 1,700 miles per hour. The pilot described how the objects reflected sunlight intensely and slightly changed direction, sparking widespread media attention. Although the U.S. Army concluded the objects were a mirage, Arnold's account marked the beginning of a wave of UFO sightings across the country. His story, filled with contradictory details, captured public imagination and laid the groundwork for decades of investigations and debates about the existence of extraterrestrial spacecraft.
