On September 29, 2016, a witness observed a luminous phenomenon above the Cauffry park in the Oise region of France. The object, described as a large helicopter blade, silently rotated in the same spot for about 55 minutes before suddenly disappearing. Despite the prolonged observation, only one testimony was recorded. This case shares similarities with another that occurred at the same time just 2-3 kilometers away, suggesting a common explanation. Researchers from the GEIPAN concluded it was likely a laser beam reflected off the cloud layer or the light rain present that night. Laser effects can vary in distance depending on atmospheric conditions, reaching even tens of kilometers. Although the exact source of the beam was not identified, the GEIPAN classified the case as likely a laser show.
