Summary

On February 6, 2017, a witness in Magny-les-Hameaux observed a dark triangular object with two white lights moving slowly above his house. The event lasted about 30 seconds, not enough time to take a photograph. The only testimony collected described a steady movement from east to west. Radar data, both national and virtual, showed the presence of an aircraft at low altitude near the location. Although the national radar did not capture the beginning of the movement, it did record the final path of the aircraft heading toward the observation point. The GEIPAN concluded that the witness likely saw a conventional aircraft, as its behavior was consistent with radar data. There was no need to identify the aircraft, as it showed no unusual characteristics.
