In June 2017, a witness in Emerainville observed an aerial phenomenon that caught their attention. They saw two bright lights, like airplane headlights, followed by a cylindrical fuselage moving slowly eastward. The object appeared to hover in the air, ascend vertically, and then disappear. A commercial jet crossed its path, leading the witness to believe they had seen an unknown craft altered by the jet. However, an analysis of air traffic showed the area was highly active with flights at various altitudes. This suggests the observed object could have been a low or medium-altitude aircraft performing normal maneuvers. The witness's detailed description, while intriguing, does not include truly unusual elements.
The confusion seems to stem from interpreting common aerial movements as abnormal behavior. The GEIPAN concluded there were no truly unexplained elements in the observation. Additionally, the same witness submitted a similar report two months later, suggesting a tendency to interpret conventional aerial phenomena as UFOs. Given the lack of other witnesses or additional evidence, the case was classified as "aircraft," indicating nothing out of the ordinary was found.
