Summary

In December 1994, in the Cotes-d'Armor region of France, several unexplained aerial phenomena were reported. Four witnesses submitted a joint report to the gendarmerie, describing lights and flashes in the sky. The GEIPAN, the French organization responsible for investigating such cases, later reviewed the file and concluded that three of the observed events had plausible explanations: one as a meteorological phenomenon (a lightning or storm), and two as a possible misidentification of the planet Venus. However, other observations lacked sufficient information to be classified with certainty, leading to a "C" rating due to insufficient reliable data.

The witnesses' descriptions were varied and sometimes contradictory, complicating the definitive classification of some events. Despite this, the use of modern tools and accumulated experience allowed investigators to distinguish between natural phenomena and possible perceptual errors. This case illustrates how the continuous review of historical files helps improve the understanding of events that initially seemed unexplainable.
