In December 1999, a driver in the Marne region witnessed a strange phenomenon. While driving, he was blinded by an intense light entering through the car's roof. The engine and radio shut down, but the ignition remained on. After a few seconds, everything returned to normal. The GEIPAN reviewed the case and found another similar account from January 2000. Both cases showed similarities: an unlocalized light, car malfunctions, and an impactful narrative. However, the lack of physical evidence and the possible influence of science fiction, such as the TV series X-Files, raised doubts. Investigators concluded that the testimonies lacked consistency.
