Summary

During an outdoor gathering on July 8, 2010, around twenty people observed a red luminous phenomenon at 11 p.m. A witness described a red spot that grew larger until it resembled a red blinking ball surrounded by a purple ring. It moved in a straight line, silently and at a constant speed, before suddenly disappearing. Only one testimony was collected, limiting the reliability of the case. Although the phenomenon seemed unusual, the lack of precise coordinates and unclear direction made confirmation difficult.

GEIPAN classified the case as "C," indicating a somewhat rare observation but with low consistency. The described trajectory initially went westward, then toward the Bauges massif and Mont Granier, suggesting a southwest direction. However, the possibility of a Thai lantern could not be confirmed. The case remains enigmatic, but with insufficient data for a definitive conclusion.
