UFO seen as plane in Longeville-les-Metz

Summary

On March 31, 2018, a witness in Longeville-les-Metz observed a white elongated object moving rapidly toward the southeast. The witness recorded the event for 50 seconds before returning to his activities. The recording was analyzed by the GEIPAN, which concluded that the object was an airplane. Although the witness did not immediately recognize it, the explanation matched the observations: the plane was at a low altitude (9000 meters), its shape appeared cigar-like due to the lateral sunlight, and it left no contrail.
