Summary

In April 2018, a group of friends in Bourges observed a luminous phenomenon in the sky at 23:47. They saw an unidentified object moving silently, with several lights that seemed to form a triangular shape that later resembled a circle. Although no clear structure was visible, the object passed over a building before disappearing. Only one person from the group came forward as a witness. Researchers from the GEIPAN concluded that it was likely Thai lanterns. These bright lights, typical of festive events, can move irregularly due to the wind. At that time, Bourges was celebrating the "Printemps de Bourges," which favored the presence of events with light launches.

The lights, moving in close formations, can shift positions due to minor differences in size and wind direction, especially in urban areas. From the ground, these variations can create the illusion of shape changes, even though no real structure exists. In this case, the lights appeared to shift from a triangular to a circular form. The GEIPAN classified the case as "Thai lanterns," considering there is no evidence of an unexplained phenomenon.
