🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1947, a farmer in Danforth, Illinois, found a strange object that he claimed had fallen on his land. The object left a 14-foot diameter circle where tall weeds were burned to fine ash. The box contained various components, such as an old microphone, capacitors, and bakelite coils. Although the farmer claimed it was a flying saucer, experts concluded it had no connection to military projects or unidentified flying objects. The investigation determined the object was a hoax, possibly created by someone seeking attention or for other reasons.
Technical analyses revealed the components were obsolete and easily obtainable. No evidence of advanced technology or extraterrestrial origin was found. The official conclusion was that it was a prank or a fabrication, yet the case was carefully documented. This incident is an example of how UFO rumors prompted serious investigations, even when there was no solid evidence.
