🇬🇧 Ministry of Defence
In February 2005, the British Ministry of Defence received multiple reports of unidentified aerial lights. These cases, while unusual, did not present evidence of military threats or airspace breaches. Witnesses described blue and green flashes moving rapidly across the sky, often with visible trails. Some observers linked them to meteors or natural phenomena, but there was no official confirmation. The government's response was clear: they do not investigate the nature of these objects, only whether they pose a national security risk. In this case, no such threat was found.
Most reports were submitted to the Section 40 answering machine, the official channel for UFO-related inquiries. Each case was recorded with limited details, as witnesses often lacked precise information about location, time, or weather conditions. Despite multiple sightings across the UK, there was no corroboration of a shared event. The Ministry reiterated that it has no interest in extraterrestrial life, only in airspace security. In the end, all cases were archived without further action.
