🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1947, multiple witnesses in Philadelphia observed an unidentified flying object described as a "giant firecracker" or "fireball." A former Army Air Corps pilot estimated its speed between 400 and 500 mph, while others reported a hissing sound and a smoke trail. Although meteor or experimental aircraft were considered, no clear explanation emerged. The accounts aligned on speed, direction, and visual effects, sparking interest at the time.
