🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, a commercial pilot and aircraft mechanic witnessed an unusual aerial phenomenon. Two softball teams and about 25 spectators observed a formation of between 7 and 9 flying objects moving with perfect precision. The objects, described as grape-sized discs, alternated between black and white every two seconds. Despite their extremely high speed, they left no contrails and made no noise, causing confusion among the observers. The perfect formation and synchronized behavior of the objects ruled out conventional explanations like airplanes or bird flocks.
The report details that the objects were at an altitude of between 25,000 and 30,000 feet, visible for only a few seconds before disappearing. The witness, with professional aviation experience, found no logical explanation for the event. Although possibilities like meteors or sunlight reflections were considered, they did not align with the event's details. The official report suggested it might have been a bright meteor, but the testimony and detailed description of the formation and behavior of the objects suggest an experience that remains mysterious and unexplained to this day.
