Summary

In August 1947, two men in Salmon Dam, Idaho, reported seeing two unidentified flying objects. According to their testimony, they heard a roar and looked up to see two circular objects reflecting light, moving at great speed at an estimated altitude between 4,000 and 6,000 feet. Although no photos or sketches were taken, the witnesses agreed the objects did not appear to be conventional aircraft. The official report suggested they could have been distant planes, but the witnesses were convinced they were not ordinary objects.

The case was included in a broader analysis of unexplained UFO incidents, where it was noted that many reports could be attributed to perceptual errors, such as difficulty estimating distance, size, or speed. However, incident #76 did not fit known patterns and remained unexplained. Despite the lack of physical evidence, the witnesses' testimony was considered consistent and not dismissed as a conventional phenomenon.
