🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1948, a weather patrol of the Coast Guard recorded an unidentified object detected by radar in the North Atlantic. The target was observed at a distance ranging from 6,500 to 18,000 yards, moving at approximately 30 mph. Despite an exhaustive visual search, no clouds or weather fronts were found in the area, and there were no indications of the object on surface radar. The report concluded that no astronomical explanation was plausible and suggested it could be a flock of migrating birds. The incident was recorded as one of the first documented cases of an unidentified object detected by radar and was shared with the Air Force for analysis.
