🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1948, a USAF officer observed an unidentified flying object near Fairbanks, Alaska. The report describes a round, flat disc about 8 inches in diameter, moving at high speed and oscillating between horizontal and vertical planes. The object reflected a silvery bright light and emitted no sound or trail. Although it was suggested it could be a sun reflection from an aircraft, the detailed description and lack of clear explanation make this an intriguing early UFO case.
The report, classified and declassified decades later, includes witness accounts, weather data, and evaluations from the time. The object's rapid maneuver and silence raised questions about its origin, while officers tried to fit it into known categories. This case is one of the first official documents showing government interest in UFOs and the effort to analyze witness reports.
