🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1948, a UFO incident was reported in Belleville, Illinois. According to the records, the observed object did not fit conventional astronomical explanations. It lacked the typical features of meteors, such as a luminous trail or high speed. It also didn't match descriptions of balloons or ordinary aircraft. Dr. Hynek noted in his evaluation that there was not enough evidence to rule out a UFO explanation. The case was included in a list of incidents with no clear explanation, making it an interesting example of early official UFO sightings in the United States.
