In July 1948, two men in a truck in Indianapolis spotted an object shaped like a short, broad propeller made of shiny aluminum. It flew at low altitude, without noise or trail, and vanished into the trees. Despite a thorough search, nothing was found. The Air Force linked it to an experimental parachute device, but engineers from General Electric dismissed the connection. The case remains unsolved.
