🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1946, a couple in Indianapolis observed a white, non-shiny object moving extremely fast across the sky. They described it as saucer-shaped, about 20 feet in diameter and 6 to 8 feet high in the center. The object made no sound or exhaust trail and was seen at an altitude of around 2000 feet. The Project Grudge report classified it as non-astronomical but found no clear explanation. Investigator Russell Carey examined the case, concluding there was insufficient evidence to identify the object.
The report includes sketches and a detailed description of the sighting. Although balloons or reflections were considered, these explanations didn't match the details provided. The case was filed without resolution, highlighting the difficulty researchers had in finding a conventional explanation. The object followed a straight course, shimmered in the sun, and appeared to spin, adding to the mystery of the observation.
